History
History of the Guesthouse Schwägele
Already in 1400 the Enzensbergerhof stood on this site. This was demolished in 1720 and the guesthouse with a pretty half-timbered gable and farming house was built in its stead. It was called: "Guesthouse of the comital brewery Steingaden". Later own, it was owned by the Aktienbrauerei Kaufbeuren. The old landlord's name was "Schwägele" and thus the name stuck.
Between 1949 - 1950 the farming tract was demolished and guestrooms were created in the new building with a view of the coming large construction site of the power plant Forggensee as accommodation for the engineers.
The Guesthouse Schwägele has stayed the same on the inside until today - except for some tiny changes. In 2003 the beer garden was added.
